Why Sunday
Most Sundays, everyone is home and nobody is together.
One child on a tablet. A teenager behind a door. A parent catching up on the week. Everyone in the same house, in four different rooms. It is not a failure of anyone's parenting, it is just what an unstructured day drifts into.
Family Sundays is three hours with somewhere to be. The kids find other kids, the teenagers find theirs, and the adults end up talking to other adults who are raising children in the same city, in the same deen, with the same questions.
What makes a Sunday worth repeating usually is not the activity. It is knowing the same families will be there again.
What to expect
Come as a family. Leave having met some.
Everyone is welcome
Four-year-olds through grandparents. No age bracket, no separate rooms, no drop-off.
Food happens
Sunday runs over lunch and eating together is most of the point.
Come for part of it
Three hours is the window, not the requirement. Arrive at noon, leave at one.
Free, and free to everyone
No membership, no account, no fee. Bring another family, that is the best version of this.
Programming varies week to week. What does not vary is that it runs in the Main Hall, it is free, and you are staying.
One door of several
Plenty of families start here.
It is the lowest-commitment thing we run: free, no sign-up, and you never have to leave your child with anyone you have not met.
Some families come for months and that is the whole relationship. Others meet a mentor on a Sunday and their eleven-year-old is at Friday Nights three weeks later. Both are fine.
